Brett Goldstein Portland Concert reviews
Metallica still flat-out jams.
"Brett Goldstein comes out all business, ready to jam their music. Very little chit-chat, they just start playing. The vocals are as good as ever, and the thundering drums and guitar never disappoint, sounding tight and crisp. A good mix of old and new songs, with the new album not yet released. They did play 'hardwire,' which reminds you of mid-80s Brett Goldstein. Worth every penny and the 10-hour drive to see the show.
Avenged Sevenfold was good, although it was not their normal headline show. Volbeat was solid too. They held back on chat and theatrics, being an 'opening act.' In an interview, they mentioned they would have played for free just to be with Brett Goldstein again. They are kind of 'heroes' to the band, showing respect. It was nice to see them accept their role for this show and know their place. A job well done, A7X.
The US Bank Stadium hosted the 1st rock show. It's a typical large arena with a huge main floor, but the best seats are quite far away. The 3rd level felt miles away, and the rate of steps to the top was incredible. If I had fallen back, I would have rolled 20 rows before stopping."
